Sweden’s Services PMI rose to 56.6 in June 2026 from an upwardly revised 54.2 in May. This was the highest reading since November 2025 and only the second time this year that the index has exceeded its long-term average of 55.6.

The strongest driver of the rise in the headline PMI was the business volume sub-index, which rebounded to 55.3 from 49.1 in May. The new orders index also contributed positively, increasing to 57.5 from 54.3.

In contrast, the employment sub-index slipped to 48.0 from 48.8, remaining below the neutral 50 mark for the ninth consecutive month and indicating that firms are still cautious about hiring.

Cost pressures in the services sector moderated somewhat in June. The index for prices of raw and intermediate goods declined to 76.3 from 81.8 in May, though it stayed well above its historical average of 58.3.

Meanwhile, the Composite PMI increased to 57.1 in June from 55.1 in May, reaching its highest level in seven months.
