US stock market closes higher, Dow Jones gains 0.43%

The leading gainers among the components of the NASDAQ Composite in today's trading were Scynexis Inc (NASDAQ:SCYX), which rose 76.05% to 2.94, Palisade Bio Inc (NASDAQ:PALI), which gained 57.74%. , to close at 2.65, and Accelerate Diagnostics Inc (NASDAQ:AXDX), which rose 41.49% to close at 0.71.

The least gainer was mCloud Technologies Corp (NASDAQ:MCLD), which shed 49.04% to close at 0.37. Shares of G Medical Innovations Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:GMVD) shed 38.29% to end the session at 1.66. Cyxtera Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:CYXT) dropped 34.69% to 0.42.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the number of securities that rose in price (2049) exceeded the number of those that closed in the red (937), while quotes of 75 shares remained virtually unchanged. On the NASDAQ stock exchange, 1803 companies rose in price, 1795 fell, and 166 remained at the level of the previous close.

The CBOE Volatility Index, which is based on S&P 500 options trading, fell 0.52% to 19.02.

Gold futures for June delivery added 0.74%, or 14.70, to $1.00 a troy ounce. In other commodities, WTI crude for May delivery rose 1.93%, or 1.41, to $74.38 a barrel. Brent futures for June delivery rose 1.26%, or 0.98, to $78.57 a barrel.

Meanwhile, in the Forex market, EUR/USD rose 0.58% to hit 1.09, while USD/JPY shed 0.19% to hit 132.59.

Futures on the USD index fell 0.45% to 101.83.
